In the past we celebrated Passover. It was a service that was only for adults and was very sombre. The entire service was like a funeral and the focus was on all the horrible things Christ went through so we could have salvation and be healed of our sicknesses. We took communion and then left in silence to go home.
I'm very happy to celebrate Easter again. It is a joyous thing to know that Christ rose from the grave and that our sins could be forgiven because he shed His blood for us! Instead of focusing on what he went through (although we should always remember it), on Easter we should celebrate his resurrection! I am very thankful for what Christ did for me and that he did rise from the dead and is now with God the Father interceding on my behalf. I need a lot of that!
