For the second time this week, Sam has brought us a ground hog. On Tuesday he brought in one that weighed 5.4 lbs. Today he brought in one that weighed 10.2 lbs.
Mattie can't figure out what's going on. Why would anyone want a dead ground hog? If you can't herd them, what use are they?
Sam is very tired - just carrying it up the hill must have been a chore - but he's also very happy and not restless tonight.
The first one was brought in just after the garbage had been picked up so we triple-bagged it and put it in the freezer. The one brought in tonight we triple-bagged and then put it into a black garbage bag. That one is being stored in the barn until tomorrow night when both will be put out with the garbage.
Mama has had a good day. She's a little wobbly but seemed to enjoy her day. She decided she wanted ice cream and blueberries for supper. Since she ate so well the rest of the day I said that would be fine with me. I decided to join her. John had blueberry waffles and turkey bacon. I think Mama and I had the better meal. :^)
