Yesterday was a fun day. Shea, JaLin, and Raiden came over at lunch time. We shared the pasta dish left overs. The girls really seemed to like all of it except the tomatoes. Mama was glad to see them and enjoyed being able to hear what they were saying. After lunch Mama went to take a nap and I read books to JaLin. After about four books, we quit and I got to spend time with Shea for most of the rest of the afternoon. We had a great visit.
Later in the afternoon, Caleb came by after he got off work. The girls were thrilled to see him.
Before long, Jeremiah, Rachel, Patrick, and Catherine came in. Jeremiah brought the lawn mower and planned to finish mowing. However, he was so tired that Rachel ended up doing most of it for him. Well, at least until she ran into a limb on the apple tree and about knocked her head off. She stopped after that. She said it almost made her sick at her stomach. She did look a little pale for a while there. Jeremiah finished up.
Caleb and his family went home. Shea was ready to cook dinner and Raiden was worn out.
Jeremiah put the lawn mower back on the trailer and was getting ready to leave. He told me to tell 'Uncle Pat' to be careful when he backed the lawn mower off the trailer. I said it would be much easier if he backed it off and left it in the garage. Rachel agreed saying it was not easy to back it off unless you knew what you were doing. Jeremiah laughed and said you'd only fall about 10 inches. He did back it off and left it by the back of the garage and gave me the key. He said he would leave the trailer and to watch when we backed the car out because it would do more damage to the car than to the trailer if I hit it.
Mama had eaten a peanut butter sandwich around five and didn't want anything else to eat. Except for a piece of pie and some ice cream. She put it into a cup and it was dripping down all around the sides. She finally did get it cleaned up with some tissues.
I was playing a game on the computer when I heard her moving the dial of the dish washer. She kept moving it over and over. Finally I went in and asked her if something was wrong with it. She turned around with an angry look on her face and said it wasn't working like it should and she was so sorry to have bothered me. I said it wasn't bothering me, that I just wondered if there was something wrong with the machine. She gave me a dirty look, got up, threw up her hands, and said she was going to bed. I told her that was okay, that I would reset the machine since it was on the drying cycle and the washing cycle wasn't finished yet. She went on to bed.
Around 4:30 this morning the phone rang. I got up and went into her room to get the phone. She already had answered it but couldn't understand what they wanted. She was fully dressed and had been sleeping on top of the covers.
She had taken her shower the night before, washed her hair (I'm pretty sure it was with hand lotion) and gotten dressed right before bed time. She had come down dressed but still had something in her hair. I asked if she wanted me to help her rinse it out. She said she did but not right then. After a while, she got up and did it herself. She won't ask for help unless she can't manage at all. She has a doctor's appointment this afternoon so I guess she's all ready.
The phone call was from Marie. She wanted to know what was going on....she said someone had called and told her there was something going on but she didn't know what it was and wanted to know if we knew what was going on. Very strange. John beeped in and she rang off to take his call. She called back around 6:30 (I was up by then.) and apologized for calling so early before. She said John was mad at her for calling him so early. He'd been asleep too and hadn't answered his phone before she hung up and called us. She still didn't know what was going on. She sounded just fine. Her voice was strong and she didn't sound drugged or like she was having a TIA. She said one of her friends from high school had called the night before and told her they were putting their mother into the hospital's intensive care unit. She thought it might be them calling her back but didn't recognize the number. She was confused but didn't sound like she sometimes does when she's confused. It was confusing! ;^/
