Sam brought in the second ground hog of the week. The first one this week was a young one and weighed about three or four pounds. The one today was bigger, around seven pounds. The first one, since we got him, weighed 8 lbs., the second weighed 8.6 lbs.
This brings his ground hog total to FOUR. He has also killed a raccoon and a squirrel.
After showing them to us we put the animal in a bag and put it in the garbage. He's watched us do it the last few times. The first time we had to get it out so he could see it again but now he seems to know what to expect.
Our neighbor Bill Glenn has responded to the comments I made on Facebook this week.
1. Give that dog an extra dog biscuit. I used to be run over with the things but haven't seen one all year.
2. Are you kidding? That's awesome.
I think Bill and I get the most excited about him decimating Ground Hog Hill (which runs behind our house and Bill's)!
He's so obviously proud of himself!
I think he knew we would take this one away too because he let us see it; but, only after he carried it a little further away from the house.
Still, he gave it up without a fuss!
