I have learned it is easier on Mama if I don't tell her about an appointment until the night before. Otherwise she worries about it, when it is, why she is going, etc.
On Wednesday I took her to the hospital for tests. She didn't want to get up (the first one was scheduled for 9:30 am) and I had to go in several times to get her up and going. Once she was up she got ready, ate breakfast, and was ready to go.
We signed in at the Registration office, then met with the money people, and then waited for the tech to come get her. The technician's name was Debby and she was very good with Mama. I told her she was unsteady on her feet and Mama told her she was too tired to walk all the way down that long hall. Debby immediately went and got a wheelchair and took Mama up in that. She showed me a waiting room next to the lab where she was going to do an EEG for Mama. It took a little over an hour and when she brought Mama out she told me about the "goop" in her hair where she had attached the electrodes. Mama complained about it but I told her we could wash her hair when we got home. She was happy with that and promptly forgot it.
Our next stop was the lab. She only had to get a finger stick there and then we went to the Radiology waiting room that was just across the hall.
We signed in and then waited until another technician came and got her to do a MRI. That only took about 30 minutes. As I rolled her back down the long hallway she said it wasn't all that noisy but that it had unsettled her. I asked her how and she said she wasn't sure how and that maybe it the vibrations.
When we got home, John and Mattie were already there and Mattie and Sam were very happy to see us.
I guess we will get the results on June 7 at her next appointment.

John mowed, trimmed, moved boxes, etc. ....probably all things he should not have done but he seemed to be okay.
Mattie had two baths. The first one was a small spot and we got it off with some wipes, but the second time she had covered her entire front right side with something nasty. That time she got a half bath outside. Warm water, dog shampoo, warm water, then a cool water rinse. She actually enjoyed it. Maybe she gets into the stuff so we will give her a bath. John agreed when I said the next time she does it that I'll take her to the groomer and get her sheared down to about 1/2 inch. (Maybe less.) I think she will look adorable and she will be much cooler. John said he thought all the hair insulated her from both cold and heat. I suggested that he go put on a winter coat with it was 80 degrees or above and then tell me how a heavy coat insulates you from the heat. He agreed. I'll make an appointment for the next time she's down here and get it done.
We had a good long weekend. I just wish all the children and grandchildren could have been here as well. We took Mama out to Mr. Gatti's for pizza and she really seemed to enjoy being out. None of us could hear the others speak so we just ate and came home. Still we had a relaxing meal and enjoyed being out.
On Friday night Mattie was frightened by fireworks someone set off, and spent the night under Mama's bed. She didn't much like the thunder that night either. On Saturday and Sunday it rained all day. The dogs were less restless and didn't beg to go out.
I still have thank you notes to rewrite. I've written and torn up so many already so I'm going to write on notebook paper until I get it said right (I hope).
Today I will pay bills, go pick up Mama's Rx, get groceries, and all that goes with that.
Mama got up early the third day John was here. Then again yesterday. Hopefully she will get her days and nights straightened out. It gets a little lonely around here.
