Yesterday just as we were about to grill out, rain started pouring. The thunder and lightening seemed to be right over our house. It didn't last long and as it turned out we could have grilled out after all.
Instead, I heated up the left over chicken and baked a potato for John (also peas) and heated up the left over chicken/pasta from Applebee's for myself. I hope we can grill out tonight.
This morning, early, the rainstorm repeated itself. Just now the weatherman showed the 7 day forecast and every day showed rain/storms. We may not get to cut grass again for a while. Our yard looks pretty good but the rain will make it grow quickly. Mama's yard may be ready to bale again by the time we get there.

I'm a pretty happy person today. Yesterday at church, Elizabeth let me go pick up Case from his Sunday School class. The look of recognition and excitement and then his realization that he wasn't finished eating his goldfish snack, was adorable. I came in and told him we could take his goldfish with us and then he was very ready to go. He even told me he'd gone to the potty. At first I wasn't sure if he was telling me or asking to go, but when I asked him if he needed to go potty, he said "all done". That was very decisive. Then I got to hold Rhett during Kid's Stuff and he fell asleep in my arms. Then when Avery came down (she's a dancer) she gave me a great hug. I love her beautiful smile.
Amy and Elizabeth were told at least three times how much they look alike. One little girl that Amy had taught at pre-school, put her hands on either side of her face, looked back and forth, and said "This is really freaky." (Or something similar.) I think they enjoy it. I hope so anyway. I certainly get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
Amy told us what happened the night Griffin had stitches put in at the ER. When they were called back the nurse seemed unsure who Amy might be and why she was there. When Amy told her she was Griffin's mother, the nurse asked her how many children she had. When Amy told her three. She asked Amy -- "How old are you?" She was startled by Amy's answer and told her she'd thought she was 28 (I think that's the right number). Amy was thrilled. Then she said to us that she was going to enjoy looking younger than she was as long as it lasted because some day it would change. I think she will always look younger than her age. My mother aged so well no one has believed how old she was for years (including me). There are a couple of similar stories I need to write down. I'll do it soon.
John and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable afternoon.
This week is pretty light. I have a doctor's appt. on Wednesday. An eye appt. on Friday, and best of all, on Thursday we are going over to see Elizabeth and play with Case and Rhett.
I was really tired last night but I feel a little better this morning. I know this makes me sound like an OLD woman but I think the rain makes my arthritis hurt more than usual.
