Today was a good day. I balanced another checkbook and it came out to the penny! Yay! I went to get Mama's Rx from the pharmacy. Together the two only cost $10.00. The antibiotic looks like a horse pill but Mama said she could swallow just about anything. The one for the dizziness caused by the fluid behind her ear drum is a very lovely shade of yellow.
Mama asked me if I was cold, that was funny because I rarely am unless I'm sick....oh, I get it, Mama is sick. She's coming down with a cold. She made potato soup and then took a three hour nap. She seemed to feel much better when she awoke for dinner. I washed and dried some more fabric for John's quilt. I still need to iron it but that will have to wait for another day.
We had planned to take the picture of Ethel as a child to Bob McClure today for his wife to have. Mama didn't feel well so I called and said we'd try to get by next week. Mama asked me later if I was disappointed that we didn't go today. I assured her I was not. It really doesn't matter when we go. If we don't get there this next week, there will be other weeks to go.
Carol came by and brought me the rough copy of the book she made for Avery. I've read the story before when it was much rougher. I'm looking forward to reading this version. We talked about 5 in 1 dwarf apple trees. I think they sound like a good idea. I wonder if we could get one to grow in the old garden.
Sam has run all over the place off and on all day. However, usually when I've gone out to call him, he's already waiting for me. He's had a few good naps as well. He didn't want to eat the dog food this morning so tonight I added some scrambled egg and some oil from where I cooked some hash browns. It's amazing how much a little addition will make such a big difference. He licked the bowl clean. He's out right now but I'm getting ready to let him in and go read for a while. I may work some crossword puzzles too.
