Sam the sad dog......:(

Sam is sad today. I think he knows he won't be allowed to roam around alone today. He's spent the last two days either on the lead or in the house.

This morning when I got up he didn't seem anxious to go out at all. I don't know what else I can do. This morning I went out with him and didn't tie him. He came as soon as I called him when he'd gone out to explore. I gave him two dog biscuits as a reward and we came inside.

I found out that his food was full of ants. The big red metal container - that I thought was ant proof - was full of them. I brought in two cups and killed the ants in that. I'm not sure what to do about the rest of it. I sure don't want to throw it away.

Maybe I can put a trap in there on top of his food and catch as many as possible. I can always microwave all the food. That would do it I guess.

I'm still very tired and frustrated at being so. I think it's my thyroid medication. I felt much better at a higher dose and now I feel so icky! I'll call Dr. Humphries as soon as I get home.

Update on my hands....the one with the pulled tendon is better. Still swollen some and sore if aggravated but not giving me any trouble on a regular basis. The other one is still slightly tingly. I hope putting these two big pillows in the chair is helping because I feel like I'm about to fall out. I do think it's better but it's not back to normal by any means.

Granny had a great day yesterday. Well, a busy one anyway! Despite telling me she had not slept at all the night before, she insisted on going to the bank, buying strawberries, going to exchange some slacks she bought, and going to Wal-mart for groceries. (She bought a bundle of garlic....I wonder what that's for because she never did say.) It was like she was full of nervous energy. Not like her at all.

She hulled and cut up the gallon of strawberries - didn't need or want any help - then we froze them in about two cup portions. She took a short nap (less than two hours).

She was up late reading. I expect her to sleep late today. She may fool me but usually when she has a day like today, it will take a couple of days for her to recover.
